Yesterday went to Singapore Indoor Stadium for the SUPER BAND concert. Have to thanks Weiling for giving me her tickets as she not able to make it. These 4 men (李宗盛，周华健，张震岳，罗大佑） come together to form a band. There are many oldies by each of them, but is 旧歌新唱。Those songs bring back some memories.

The audiences are from various all age, from young to older. Those young one are fans of 阿岳， the rest should be fans of the other 3. You can easily spotted aunties and uncles. But these aunties and uncles can be very high also.

Did not bring camera along, so this explain why only a few photos posted and also why the photos are of such poor quality.

Had a sumptuous dinner with Angie at TONKICHI at Shaw House. Knew this resturant had reside there for years, but I din give it a try before. Their foods are alright, serving is quite big also. You can ask for refill of vegatable too.

Catch up with Regina, Peipei and Miki for a dinner also. Get to know Regina had made a change in her job and I feel its a bold move. All the best my friend.

Did not attend the ceremony, join her after the ceremony end and took a few photos. Went for dinner at Hotpot Culture after that.

Koh Samui - 07.08.08 - 10.08.08

Had a short getaway to Koh Samui over the National Day weekend with Denise. Our flight is at the evening, so there is no need to take another leave. Reach Koh Samui about 8pm+, as the time there is 1 hour behind Singapore time. We took Bangkok Airway (never heard before) as its the only airline that fly direct from Singapore. The foods they provide were totally suck!!!

After the plane ended, we were told to board this tram alike and it will bring us to the terminal.

Queuing to get our passport stamped. Damn "suay" that our queue is moving damn slow. The officer took so long to finish one passport, while the office beside can do it in a faster speed.

We were staying at Nora Chaweng Hotel, its a newly open hotel. Its not located along the beach, it was separated by a stretch of road.

The room was quite spacious, quite clean, with a big bed, bath tub, etc.

We booked a 1-day island tour which cost us 450 baht. The minibus pick us up at the hotel and bring us to Khunaram Temple, Big Buddha, Monkey Show, Na Muang Waterfall, Hin Ta & Hin Ya.

This laughing Buddha is yet to complete.

This is the Big Buddha, Koh Samui most famous landmark. The Buddha is 12 meter tall and painted all gold.

One of the temple that the tour guide bring us. The internal of the temple is full of drawing, from walls to ceilings.

The next stop is the monkey show, actually its nothing fantastic. These monkeys are trained to work for man. They will climb up the coconut tree to pick coconuts.

The monkey in action! In second, the monkey has reached the tree top. It will twist the coconut and drop the coconut to the ground.

This is the Hin Ta & Hin Ya, which is also called the Grandfather & Grandmother rock. The local story tells an old couple whose ship was wrecked in the bay and their body were washed ashore to create the rocks.

This at the Namuang Waterfall, they are people jump into the water to have fun. There are elephant ride which can bring you nearer to the waterfalls.

NDP 2008 (Preview)

Not able to get any NDP ticket, so decided to go to somewhere near to see the Black Knights performance and fireworks. Managed to find a spot at the Esplanade Bridge before the show start.

The people in red had filled up the grandstand of The Float @ Marina Bay. The back drop you can see The Singapore Flyer. The audience were seated quite early and patience waiting for the show to start.

Over at the Merlion Park, a lot of no ticket people are crowded there to see the NDP.

Here come the State Flag Flypast, every NDP this is one of the event you can never miss.

Following the State Flag Flypast, here come the RSAF Black Knights. This year the Black Knights commemorate 40 years anniversary. This year aerial display is much more than any previous year.

The "heart shape" display further push up the atmosphere of the audience at the Float @ Marina Bay.

Finally got my feet on the world's largest giant observation wheel - Singapore Flyer. Standing at 165 metres, the Singapore Flyer is a new waterfront attraction that sits among a hotbed of upcoming exciting developments in Marina Bay. Unobstructed in all directions, you will be able to take in different perspectives of the dynamic Singapore landscape and even parts of Malaysia and Indonesia at every turn of the wheel.

So coincident that NDP 08 is having rehearse at the Marina Bay Floating Platform when I'm up in the sky. It a different experience to view NDP at such height. From the top, you can clearly see what the marching contingent is trying to form.

This is the first time experiencing the national flag fly pass in a close distance. Every year either see it on tv or went to nearby and view it on ground.

One of the imperfection is not able to see the RSAF Black Knight performance in the capsule. The above picture is taken on the ground. Cannot imagine what is the feeling to view them in the air.

The artillery guns are position just outside the flyer, waiting for their turn to perform the "21 Salute."

Look at the messy piece of land and the number of plants and equipments working, this is Singapore future Integrated Resort. When it is completed, it definitely change the view of Marina Bay.

When asked what is the skyline view of Singapore, the above will come to most of the people mind (UOB PLaza, OUB Centre, Republic Plaza, etc.). The Sail (on the left with a pointed top) has added into the picture recently which going to change the skyline of Singapore. With the upcoming Marina Bay Finance Centre and the Integrated Resort the skyline of Singapore will definitely be more interesting.

Mobilisation

Most Singaporeans men will be familiar with the above. It is the mobilisation sign, different unit will have different sign. Mine unit mobilisation signs are SQUARE KITE or ARMOUR PLATE. I guess nobody wanna see that flashing on tv.

Was on amber manning since last week and today got mobilised, meaning the whole day will be wasted. Got my full pack, SBO & helmet then took a cab to Nee Soon Camp. Sian... this is the second time been mobilised.

Bintan Trip

Finally got time to update my trip to Bintan island during the public holiday long weekend. Denise got the Bungalow from her company, so I tag along with the colleagues.

Reached Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal before noon. This is the first time I visit the terminal. The place is not very big, but there are quite crowded.

This is the youngest member in this trip. She is one of Denise colleague's daughter - Joey. The one beside her is her auntie.

The ferry took us about 60mins, clear custom, board the coach, then check-in to our bungalow in Bintan Lagoon Resort took us about another 60mins.

This is the bungalow that we had our 2 days stay. The bungalow consist of living area, dinning area, kitchen, 4 bedrooms, 3 toilets and 1 buggy (can you see the little vehicle at the door).

This is the living area, they are sitting around watching tv programs. At Bintan we are able to watch all Mediacorp channel, this made us feel very at home.

We brought some foods with us to have BBQ dinner. The houseflies over at Bintan is horrible, they are huge and never goes away no matter how hard you chase them.

Went to the beach on the 2nd day, the sun is damn hot and the fine sand is scorching the feet. I don't find the beach very nice, but very much better than beach in Singapore.

We decide to hire a taxi to bring us to the town outside the resort zone and the charges were S$75 for 4 hours. Actually its not very expensive, because its a 7 seater car.

He brought us to Pasar Oleh Oleh, which I think most Singaporean will visit when they went to Bintan. The reason is its the nearest marketplace to the resort zone. I feel there is nothing much to buy, just walk around the place.

Traveling on the taxi, the driver will tell us a little bit about Bintan. The driver know we are Singaporeans, he then tune his radio to FM933. And I can tell you its damn clear lor.

He brought us to a town and drop us to walk around. Frankly specking there is nothing interesting to buy. Walking around is just to get the feel how the local way of living.

According to the taxi driver, this is 1 of the 3 traffic light on the island. Actually roads on the island is not that busy, 3 should be enough. Whahaha...

Enough of walking and it dinner time, the driver brought us to "The Kelong Restaurant". This is another place most Singaporean will patron. The price is about the same as restaurant in Singapore.

Wisdom Tooth Extraction

Finally went to extract the wisdom tooth that is giving many hard time. As the tooth is buried under the gum, so normal extraction cannot be done. So 25% of my wisdom is gone. Whahaha... This tooth cost me $550, damn expensive lor. Not to feel much pain to the pocket, I pay using Medisave. I got 3 more tooth, sooner or later got to extract them.

Any idea why people grow wisdom tooth. They are of no use, expect causing pain to the gum and pocket. Got MC till next Thursday but dun intend to consume all of them, because I have took quite a lot of MC already.

Planet Fitness

Finally I have make up my mind and sign up a gym membership. What have been holding me? Firstly the pricey membership fee, secondly am I have the determination to visit the gym frequently.

Had done a comparison between the 3 club (California Fitness, Fitness First and Planet Fitness) in Singapore before signing up. In my opinion Fitness First is a premium club, the fee is also the most expensive among the 3. California Fitness is the most crowded and the most gay spotted among the 3, but its the best rate you can find in town. After deep consideration I took up Planet Fitness. To me they are in the mid range, not too expensive and not too crowded.

Now money have been spent and hope I can see result. I am also target to pass my IPPT with better result in order to get the money reward from SAF to cover my membership fee. Whahaha...

Arab Street + Haji Lane Day Trip

Went to Bugis Junction newly renovated foodcourt - Food Junction for lunch. Every stall is well decorated, everywhere is well furnish, the price is also relatively higher than normal foodcourt. Tried the Chicken Cullet Omelette rice including a bowl of soup and it cost $7.50. Don't you find that is quite expensive.

Tired shopping in normal shopping mall, decided to pay a visit to Arab Street and Haji Lane. Actually there is nothing much at Arab Street, mainly selling cloth and carpet. But there is this shop selling beads which i find quite interesting. As for Haji Lane are mainly selling fashion clothing carter to the young. Didn't spend too long as the weather is damn hot.

As walking away from Haji Lane, came across this building - Parkview Square. Known this building is there for many years, but haven got a chance to have a closer look. No idea Parkview Square is a residential / commercial building, or it is a mixture. A part from that it is a building with its own character, you can see sculpture / statue everywhere.

The Forbidden Kingdom

Catch the movie by two kongfu master Jet Li and Jackie Chan - "The Forbidden Kingdom".

Based on the Chinese legend of the monkey king, an American teen discovers the king's legendary stick weapon in a pawn shop. He is transported back in time to ancient China, where he joins a crew of warriors fighting to free the imprisoned king.

I find it a bit weird having a Chinese legend story background and they are speaking in English. Fighting scene is the main selling point of this movie, the story is not that good.

You will never miss out the above 2 beauty in the movie, they are Li Bing Bing and Liu Yi Fei.

Crazy Ang Mo

Beside the well known Ang Mo hawker - Botak Jones, there is this new one named Crazy Ang Mo. The stall offered quite a few number of dishes, so I ordered the fish & chips. After paying for the order, a receipt with a number printed on is issue. When the food is ready, they will call out the number for collection.

The portion of the fish & chips is just nice for me, taste is all right. The price tag of $6.50 is a bit steep, overall still worth give it a try.

New Desktop

Last Saturday got my DIY desktop done up, but it took me a few days to install all the necessary softwares. Thanks Neo to accompany me to Sim Lim to get those stuff.

From one look there is no much different from the old one, but the internal component all have a great upgrade. I only reuse the DVD rom and sound card.

Bought Main Board, Processor, Graphic Card, DVD Writer, Casing, Power Supply and TV Card the total damage is $1,230.

Planing to get a speaker and monitor, but got to wait for few months in order for my pocket to recover.

Old Desktop

Time for my 6 years old desktop to give way. Din realise that I have been using it for so many years. Over these years, 1 power supply and 1 graphic card have broke down and replaced. Now the mainboard's cmos battery has dry up.

If you are wondering what is a cmos battery. It is a non-rechargeable lithium cell which powers the chipset when the machine is off. This prevents your mainboard's system time and BIOs settings from resetting each time the power is switched off.

Initial planning was to get a laptop during the IT Show, in the end I give up the idea. The price of a normal laptop I can DIY a good desktop.

Tomorrow I'm going to Sim Lim to get those parts, its burning deep into my pocket.

Sky of Love - 恋空

Catch a movie after the wedding lunch, patronize Cathay again as they promotion of 20% off all ticket with payment by credit cards. Watched the "Sky of Love" starring Haruma Miura, Yui Aragaki.

The story is about a young couple in their 3 years of high school days. The story goes on that the couple enjoy happily and in the end the guy die due to cancer. This is those 老掉牙 storyline, that everyone have seen in many movies. From the weeping sound in the cinema, I know the movie has successfully touches the audiences.

Did a search on the main actor and actress and realise that Haruma Miura is only 18 years old and Yui Aragaki is 2 years older - 20 years old. OMG, they are so young. Below are some picture from the movie itself.

The guy bought a simple and cheap ring for the gal, and she is so happy. Nowadays where to find a gal that will satisfy with cheap ring. Whahaha...

If you are a guy, bring a gal to watch this movie. I am sure she will like it.

Lucky I had a day to enjoy for this long weekend. Glad that my gum was not as swollen as 2 days back, so I manage to attend Cynthia's Wedding Lunch. We had known each other since secondary school days.

Super Long Weekend

I think everyone is enjoying this long weekend (due to Good Friday) with many plans. I had a super long weekend, starting from Wednesday till Sunday (total of 5 days). You must be envying me right. You are totally wrong!!! I got the extra 2 days from MC, having gum swollen due to wisdom tooth.

Had been staying at home for the past 2 days, including today. All plans have to cancel and postponed. Have an appointment with the dentist on Sunday.

On the 14th February 2008, I attended Carlyn's engagement at Registry Of Marriages. Today the place is exceptional crowded, because is Valentine's Day. This day, there are 103 couples waiting for their turn to tie the knot of marriages.

All the relatives and friends were invited into a room, the room seem too small for the number of us. The process of taking vow and signing of certificate is quite a short one, it took about 15 minutes.

After that, we headed to China Square to have dim sum buffet. Congratulation my friend!!!

This is my third movie during the Chinese New Year period. Complete the 3 Chinese New Year blockblaster. Went to Cathay AMK to watch "Ah Long Pte Ltd". Nowadays I will try to watch movie at Cathay as they have promotion for UOB card, weekday is $6.00 and weekend is $8.00.

The movie is mainly shot in Malaysia, used many Malaysia actor and actress and mixed of Hockkien, Cantonese and Mandarin were used. This is a typical Jack Neo's movie, either you like it or hate it.

Chinese New Year is just round the corner, but the preparation work are not done. Yesterday went out to shopping for new clothes, glad that manage to get 2 top. The old saying that Chinese New Year must wear new clothings. Do you believe this or it is just another good excuse to buy more new clothes.

Anyway spring cleaning is a headache and it not done yet. Going to do it now, cleaning and clearing up my room, cleaning the toilet, putting up some New Year decoration, etc... There are so many things to do and hope I will be able to finish by today.

After the company seminar went straight to AMK Hub Cathay to catch "27 Dresses". There is promotion using UOB debit / credit cards to purchase the tickets. Firstly, instead of $9.50 per ticket on weekend its down to $8.00. Secondly, there is a free popcorn upon using the card to pay. Great deal!!!

"27 Dresses" a typical girly movie which most gal will love it. Happy and sweet ending.

I'm back from the stay at Scarlet Hotel. Before heading to the hotel, meet Denise for Mac breakfast at VivoCity. After our breakfast we went to collect my birthday cake at Awfully Chocolate.

Their store will have this small corner with a few seats and tables for patron to sit down and enjoy their ice-cream. Left VivoCity after our collection.

Here we are, after a short walk from Outram MRT station we reached the hotel. The hotel is a row of shophouses along Erskine Road. Along the walkway of the hotel you can find quite a number of unique shops, but things in there are not selling cheap.

Went up to the counter to check-in (check-in:2pm, check-out: 12pm), the process din took long. After the payment made, the staff lead us to our room.

We were given room 107, which is not too far away from the main lobby. There is this very unique leather container mounted to the door. I guess it is for them to drop newspapers, but the next day I dun see any newspaper there. Haha...

I'm quite happy with the size of their standard room. The warm lighting of the room make it very cozy (bad for photo taking). Open up the wardrobe, you can find a few surprises. Beside the normal things like safe, hangers, slippers, etc. there are umbrella, emergency touch light, paper bag, recycle bag and shoe polish. I find these are quite unique.

It would be prefect if the bathroom come with bathtub, other than that most things are provided.

There is no swimming pool, I think these old shophouses cannot take the load of a swimming pool. Nevertheless, they got a jacuzzi that provides water massage.

They got this small gym with few machines that allow people to do some workout during their stay.

After switching from channel to channel, there is nothing interesting to watch. So took out my camera to get some shot. The above are some of the result.

She bought me a polo-tee from Fred Perry which I alway wanted to buy. She insist me to try on and see whether it fit. If it dun fit, must quickly go for an exchange.

This is our all time favorite chocolate cake from Awfully Chocolate. Lighted the candles, made a wish, candles blown and cake was cut. Another year older already... Thanks those who send sms or called me to wish me Happy Birthday.

Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum

Still remember at Feb 2005, I been there before this temple was built. During then they are raising funds for the temple and now its already done.

Origin Of Buddha Tooth Relic Temple

In 2002, Ven. Cakkapala decided to hand over the Buddha Tooth Relic (which he had reverently enshrined for 22 years) to Ven. Shi Fashao to be safeguarded. He exhorted the new guardian that, should the opportunity arise, he is to build a monastery for the relic, so that Buddhists from everywhere may gather in Singapore to pay reverence to it. These people, it was hoped, may in this way connet with the Buddha and hence increase in blessings and wisdom. Having been so urged by Ven. Cakkapala, Ven. Shi Fashao resolved to be secluded in a one-year Dharma Loutus Blossom Retreat and conceived during the retreat not only then name "Buddha Tooth Relic Temple & Museum", but also an architectural style based on the Buddhist mandala and integrated with the art culture of Buddhism in the Tang dynasty. Naturally, the classical ethos of the building has to be matched with a site with a long history. Loaded with significance for early Chinese immigrants, and also being the locus of the roots of Chinese culture here, Chinatown became the choice for the building of the new temple.

The Temple and Museum display various Buddhas statues from all over the world. There are too many Buddhas statues to be named and many are I don't know of. The whole place is very grand and well finished.

The Vairocana Buddha Prayer Wheel is installed inside Ten Thousand Buddhas Pavilion. It is the largest cloisonne Buddha Prayer Wheel in the world. "Revolving scriptures" originated from "turning the pitaka". "Turning" a Sutra is different from "reading pitaka" which virtually meant reading the Sutras everyday without missing a single word. "Turning pitaka" is just reading a few lines at the start, middle and end portions of the Sutras.

Cylindrical in shape, it is a religious artefact commonly used by Chinese Buddhists. The rim is embossed with esoteric Vairocana Mantra. A piece of scripture is placed inside. Every turn of the wheel represents a single recital of the scripture and mantra. The wheel is a convenient way to recite the sutra.

Recently have been following MediaCorp's 30 episode blockbuster drama serial - The Golden Path (黄金路). It has been quite sometime I have keep up so closely with a MediaCorp drama serial. The main cast for the serial are 李南星、陈莉萍、郑斌辉、陈凤玲、周初明、白薇秀. I feel Chew Chor Meng and Tay Ping Hui play well in their roles. Oh ya not to forget, the opening theme 路 by 迷路兵 is nice too.

Went home to drop the DVD player and headed straight to Cine Orchard for movie with Denise. Watched "Good Luck Chuck", its a romance comedy by Jessica Alba.

After the movie, we went to No Signboard Seafood @ Esplanade for dinner. Actually wanna try Jumbo Seafood, but they are fully book. I thought during Christmas those Chinese restaurant will not be so crowded, who knows they are also fully book.

Yesterday after work went to town to meet Raymond for dinner. After a short dinner, we just walk around and found that everywhere is full of people. Everyone is shopping for Christmas gift, as the market is doing well people are willingly to spend more.

At the same time, I also waiting for Denise to finish her movie with colleague. Send her home and I took a cab home. That was my first cab ride after the cab price hike. The cab meter now is jumping $0.20 instead of previous $0.10. Now the meter jump my heart jump faster. Haha... This is what we have to accept and get use to.

Christmas Gift Exchange

Last Sunday went to shop for Christmas gift exchange. At the end of the day, I decide to buy the above from Muji Marina Square. I bought a 2008 organiser and an aluminium card case for the Christmas gift exchange on coming Monday.

Got her this "cute" sheep from Serta Bedding and hope she will like it. I have yet to give her, but will pass it to her on Saturday.

Changi Airport Terminal 3

Don't think I need to say what's the above photo is. Last Sunday went to the Changi Airport Terminal 3 Open House, before that went to the Sitex 2007 at Singapore Expo. Quite a lot people went to the Open House, as many are curious how the new T3 will look like.

The spacious Departure Hall, with the unique roof that allow natural light to enter the terminal. Singapore is promoting engery saving, Hahah...

We bought the $3 guided tour around the terminal, the money we pay will go to charity. Denise holding the tickets happily, actually is I forced her to take these photo.

The terminal is like a glass box, most of the wall is made of glass. This will not give people a enclose feeling. There is a spectacular five-storey high and 300m wide vertical garden features 25 species of climbing plants at both Departure and Arrival Halls.

T3 will have over 100 shops, more than 40 F&B joints and over 20 service outlets for us to enjoys.

These seat are mostly found at the Gate Holdrooms, according to the tour guide they are import from Sweden. LKY commented on these seat during his visit to T3.

Scheduled to open on 9th January 2008, T3 is set to further enhance Changi Airport's status as the leading air hub in the region.

On Monday, went to company Dinner & Dance at Meritus Mandarin. This D&D also celebrates the company 80th Anniversary. Most of the D&D are similar, some games that involve all the crowd, "sabo" people up to the stage to entertain everybody, lucky draw, etc...

They have this "Long Service Award", and you can never imagine the most number of years a person can service. Its damn solid 46 years of service, I can't believe it when they announced it. How can one person work in the same company / environment for such a long period?

Anyway there no luck to win anything from the draw.

PSP Slim & Lite Spoilt

Friday evening went down to Sony Service Centre at Wisma to get my PSP repair. I was playing with it, then suddenly the right side of the LCD screen turn grey and I was like WTF. I just got it about a month and its giving problem already.

Reach the service centre and waited for 2 hours before my turn. They will revert within one week. So now got no game to play.

Had been two week into my new job, there is nothing much to say as it is still too early. Too early to judge are the people around are good or bad, but at this point of time they are friendly.

Need a period of time to adjust and adopt to the new environment, as I was with the previous company for 2 years +. Past two week, I can reach home at about 7pm which I won't be able to do in my previous (because not assigned to much work). Take this chance to have a break and enjoy mum's cooking. Haha...

Today mark my last day at the place I have stayed for 2 years 5 months. There is a mixture of feeling, happy and sad. Happy is my next job pay me better, Sad is I got to leave the place and people that I have been seeing for 2 years plus.

Me and my Director - Wooi Sin. Have been working with him since my first day of work.

Me and my Assistant Director - Josephine. She is a very patient lady which hardly ever seen her blowing temper.

After work, Su Wei, Lya, Bernard & Me went to Pasta De Waraku @ The Central for dinner. Again the dinner was on them.

After finishing our pasta, we ordered a dessert to share as most of us is feeling full.

I would like to wish my all colleagues which we had been working hard for the past all the best and till then we meet again.

This was taken last Friday @ Waraku Japanese Restaurant. Went there for a farewell dinner for me. We ordered quite a lot of food and everyone was filled to the top, total bill was like S$400+.

Yesterday went to Funan Digital Life Mall to get myself a new toy - PSP Slim & Lite. Have been waiting for the official launce in Sony Singapore for quite some time, but yet it not here yet. So I went to buy the export set instead.

The new PSP is 33% lighter – weighing only about 189g (weight of current model is approximately 280g), and 19% slimmer – measuring a mere 18.6mm thick (thickness of current model is approximately 23mm). Even the thickness of the battery has been reduced by 23% to 10mm (thickness of battery in current model is 13mm).

Total damage to my wallet is S$390.00 (consoles + mod + 4GB Sandisk memory stick + screen protector).

Singaprore Zoo - 290907

Yesterday went to Singapore Zoo with Denise, as she manage to get the corporate pass. Each pass admits 4 persons free, but there is only 2 of us. Each adult cost S$16.50, the prices had increase compare to S$14.00 in 2 years back (increase about 17%, is quite a lot leh) .

Saw this little Critter running around its cage. It is not afraid of the visitors at all, sometime it will come so near to you.

There are 3 White Tigers, only 1 is actively walking and playing around. The other 2 are laying on the rock sleeping.

Its about 2pm and all the Otter still sleeping soundly in their home. Seriously you can't find a single one around the vicinity.

I suppose not many people out there will like Warthog. In my opinion they really looks ugly. Haha...

There are many animal exhibits in the Zoo, these 2 are from the Reptile Garden.

The Kangaroo and the Hunting Dog are resting in their respective cave. Do you think those Kangaroo in Singapore Zoo able to jump and hop around, cos I dun see them doing that.

Hamadryas Baboon live in their exhibit name "Great Rift Valley of Ethiopia". There is a huge community of Baboon living in the exhibit, from young to old.

This photo show the butt of the Hamadryas Baboon. Are you aware that the red butt is in the shape of a heart. Cute right!!!

After few minutes of observation, I notice that the Asian Elephants is doing nothing just standing around and swing their trunk. Do you know Elephant hate chilli?

Elephant at work, the elephant rides cost S$8.00 for adult and S$4.00 for child. Do you think its expensive???

We took this photo at the Elephants of Asia exhibit, where there are few build up area for people to rest and view Elephants.

There are 2 exhibits housing the number of Orang Utans the Zoo have. The exhibits namely "Island Free Ranging Orang Utans" and "Broadwalk Free Ranging Orang Utans". These 2 exhibits allow the Orang Utans to swing from trees to trees.

The background is the exhibit of the Orang Utans. There are bridges that bring us nearer and higher to have a better view of the exhibit.

The Singapore-born Polar Bear Inuka has been living in Singapore for 16 years. In the beginning of the year, Singapore Zoo is planning to send Inuka away. In the end the WRS Animal Welfare & Ethics Committee (AWEC) Recommendation that Inuka to stay in Singapore.

Why are they all staring into the sky? What are they looking at? Haha... Because there is a flock of crows flying across and making hell of noise.

Here come the Lion King. There are 1 male and 3 female Lion in the exhibit. Wow, the male is so fortunate. Whahaha...

The Giraffe is eating at their foods hanging on the tall trees. Do you know Giraffe spend 20 hours per day eating.

From the above picture, as you can see most of the animals are resting and sleep. Same goes to the Cheetah. I think it maybe is due to the hot weather we have here.

After the movie, went to see fireworks @ Marina Bay. Took a train to Raffles Place station, and walk to the big field right opposite the floating platform. When we reach there, the place is already full of people. We din go all the way into the field, cos its too muddy due to the earlier downpour.

After the display of the fireworks, the sky is full of smoke. The buildings nearby are cover by the smoke. Wondering will the smoke cause any problem to the environment.

Last day was a short one, as our flight is in the late afternoon. We had our breakfast at a eatery which we pass by everyday. We ordered 2 burger and something that is made from eggs.

Din travel far as we do not have much time. Went to LongShan Temple to have a look. The Temple is full of sculptures and the beautiful architecture.

Took this picture on the plane, just happened that the sun is setting when we are high up in the sky. The view up there is marvellous.

Taipei (26 Jul 07 - 30 Jul 07) - Day 4

Have been eating the hotel's breakfast for the past 2 days, and we are feeling sick of it already. Today we decided to have Mac instead. You can hardly find people in the morning Ximending, as most of the shop have not open.

After our breakfast, we took a train to Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall station which is just 3 station from Ximending station.

We didn't know the C. K. S Memorial Hall is under renovation, so many area are close. We are not able to enter to where the big statue sit. Quite disappointed as it wasted our effort to travel all the way there.

The area is very big, don't know is how many soccer field. Soon the sky start drizzling, we quickly took a few photo before we left the place.

Next we went to the underground mall. The underground mall is link up Taipei Main station and Zhongshan station. The mall is divided into 3 sections - foods, fashion and games.

We settle our lunch at this noodle restaurant in the underground mall. The noodle taste good and its not very expensive.

One of the ShinKong Mitsukoshi, there are quite a few in Taipei City. It is a departmental store like Isetan or Takashimaya. Went there to shop and this is the place where I spent most of my money. Remember if you are shopping here, you are entitled for tax refund at the airport. After buying, we headed back to hotel to drop our stuff before going to Ximending for dinner.

I remember seeing this guy in either Jacky Wu or Zhang Fei variety show.

Not sure what is the name of this cafe, but for sure its something to do with the Swing. Actually wanna have our dinner here. But after looking at their menu, they are serving finger foods and drinks. Part of the place is cafe, the other part is full of soft toys. Soft toy lovers will like this place.

In the end we picked this restaurant for dinner. We ordered their bake rice set, which come with a drinks, soup and breads.

Taipei (26 Jul 07 - 30 Jul 07) - Day 3

Same as previous day, wake up got prepared and had breakfast at the hotel cafe. Thereafter, we proceed with our plan - Hot Spring. We took a train from Ximending station to Xinbeitou station. To Xinbeitou, we got to change to another train at Beitou station.

Reached Xinbeitou station, we approached the information counter which is located in the station itself. We asked the girl at the counter to give us some recommendation, and she pass us a brochure featuring those better Hot Spring hotel or resort.

After flipping through the brochure, we decided to choose - Spring City Resort. We went to the side of the station to wait for the shutter bus. Again, we waited for about an hour and the bus din come. We tried call up the resort, the person answer said the bus has came back to the resort and also did pick up some visitors. Instead of waiting for the next bus, we took a cab that cost us only NT$70.

We were introduce with a few package by the staff, as we don't know much about Hot Spring we choose one package which cost us NT$2,500 for 2 hours.

After paying, we were bring to our room, the room consist of an area for sofa and tv and the other area of course is the bath room. For those people who are not use to hot bath, I think you won't like Hot Spring. Some people will feel giddy after soaking, and there is an emergency button for you to call for help when needed. Actually the temperature can be control just like the water heater you are using at home. It so comfortable to lay on the sofa watching tv after a hot soak.

After the Hot Spring, the resort shutter bus sent us to Beitou station. From there, we travel down to Danshui station. Our next destination is Danshui Old Street and Fishermen's Wharf.

Once you step out of the train station, you will see 2 donut brand - Mister Donut and Dunkin' Donut facing each other. Taiwanese really like donuts???

Danshui Old Street is worth going even its located at the far end (the last station of the MRT route). You can find lot of foods to eat, things to shop and things to see, a nice place not to be miss.

This is one of the highly recommended must try food at Danshui Old Street. For fishball lovers, the fishball itself contain little pock mince. The dumpling is yummy too. There is also other food like the well known A-Po "iron eggs", we don't like so we din try.

You can find a few store selling this ice-cream. They come in 2 size, we ordered the taller one. How tall the ice-cream can go is depend on the whether the ice-cream is hard enough. If the ice-cream achieve the hardness, the seller also can't sell you. In the end we din finish the whole ice-cream, cos the rate its melting is too fast.

The sun is setting, people just sit by the shore chatting and relaxing.

Bought the ferry ticket to Fishermen's Wharf. Can't remember the price for the ticket, but for sure it not expensive.

Reached the Fishermen's Wharf, behind us is the "Lover's Bridge".

Fishermen's Wharf is full of people and active. There are cafe for you to chill and restaurant for you to fill your stomach. There is also a boat ride around Fishermen's Wharf, but dunno how much it cost.

The night has come, the "Lover's Bridge" was lighted up another kind of look.

After leaving Danshui, we reached Jiantan station to wait for the shutter bus to Miramar Entertainment Park. This time round we got onto the shutter bus, but its damn crowded. The bus driver told us the last bus is at 10.30pm. Miramar Ferris Wheel is sit on the rooftop of the entertainment park. Miramar Ferris Wheel is the second largest wheel in diameter in Taiwan.

The ride cost NT$200 per person.

Look at the queue, its damn long. Its look like a snake, turn here and there. As we are in the queue, we are so worry that we are not able to catch the last shutter bus back to Jiantan.

Can't remember how long it take to complete one round, should be about 15 mins. Actually view from the top is not that fantastic, as there is nothing much to see. The Taipei 101 is so far away and can't really see it.

After our ride, we rush to the waiting stop for the shutter bus and we manage to catch it. Went to Shilin Night Market and get some food before back to hotel.

Wake up get prepare and head for the complimentary breakfast by the hotel. Its a simple breakfast, bread, ham, egg, sausage, congee and few dishes to go with the congee. After filling up our stomach, we left the hotel and start our day.

Took the Metro to Taipei City Hall station and found the waiting point for the free shutter bus to Taipei 101 Mall. We waited for more than 30 mins for the shutter bus and see no sign of it. In the end we took a bus instead, paying NT$15 is worth waiting under the hot sun wasting our time.

The bus bring us to the foot of Taipei 101. Before going into the high end shopping mall, we did some shot outside.

After walking around the mall for awhile, we reached the 5th floor - the place to purchase ticket and the entrance to the observatory. The ticket to the 89th floor cost NT$350 and the ticket to the 91st floor outdoor observatory cost another NT$100. That day the 91st outdoor observatory was closed for filming.

This is the Guinness Record breaking high speed pressurized elevators, 1010 meters / min. Only 37 seconds to reach the 89th Floor.

Upon reaching the 89th floor, the staff there will issue you this audio guide which come in eight languages. By entering the number where you are at and bring it to your ear just like a phone, you will hear explain what you see in font of you.

The world's largest exposed Wind Damper, weighing 660 metric tons. The movements of the mass damper offset movement in the building caused by strong gusts, reducing the overall effect of the wind on the building.

The sky is very foggy, can't take a clear picture of the 台北小巨蛋. This where most concert of pop singers are held.

Head to New York New York (another shopping mall) donut. Mister Donut, highly recommended, so we give it a try. From the display case you can see there are more variety than the donut sell in Singapore.

We each choose 2 donut to share, dunno how much it cost us (cos I'm not the one paying). Haha... I think average each is about NT$30 - NT$45. Overall still taste good, worth giving it a try.

After finish eating our donuts, we pass by the mini Statute of Liberty. This should be the trademark of the shopping mall.

On our way to find a good spot to shoot Taipei 101, we happened to walk pass 台北市政府 / Taipei City Hall.

Found a nice spot to shoot the whole Taipei 101 before we leave that area and move on to another place.

Still remember this brand? The shop that "stink" the surrounding with fragrant. Since we got bathtub in our room, we decided to have bubble form bathe.

When the night came, we went back to 西门町 / Ximending to shop around and look for food to eat. The place is alway crowded with people.

Went to Ximending's KFC for a little snack. Tried their fries with cheese and something like rice cracker.

The food one must try whenever they visit Taipei, this is what most people said. This is one of the outlet at Ximending. They have quite a few outlet around Taipei.

They do not provide any sit and table for their customers. Everyone got to stand around to finish that hot bowl of mee suan. We bought a bowl back to hotel room. I find it quite nice, as this is not my first time tasting, but she doesn't like it.

Taipei (26 Jul 07 - 30 Jul 07) - Day 1

I'm back from my Taipei trip, got no time to do the updating. Since today is a weekend, I shall do a bit of update.

Wake up at 5am and left for bus at about 5.30am. We intend to take a bus, cos we thought so early there will not have much crowd. To our surprise the bus is damn packed. The bus travel very slowly and stop at almost every bus stop. Lucky we set off early, if not we will be late for our flight at 8.35am.

Our luggages took up 2 seats, we are so paisay as the bus was packed with people. The bus ended at Terminal 2, just nice for us to board our flight. Actually we planned to shop at the Duty Free, but due to the slow bus journey, we are left with little time.

If you have done your the online check-in, there is no need for you to join the queue to process the normal check-in. There is a special check-in counter for you to check-in your luggages and the process is much faster.

Paying few hundred more and you will get this - the flight entertainment. This really help killed time in the boring plane. There are music, movie and game, but their game is as old as 10 years. Beside having those entertainment, you will get more leg space, cushion, blanket, newspapers, etc...

The flight meal looks good, but in my opinion they don't taste nice. Anyway its better than nothing. There is free flow of any drink they have, from juices to cocktail.

After took off a few mins later, we were in the blue blue with white white beautiful clouds around us.

After about 4 hours, we finally can see land. From the picture, you can see a lot farm and plantation. So happy to see land, meaning we will be landing soon.

Landed in Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. The flag is so big, scare people cannot see meh. Haha...

After collected our luggages, we went straight to the FreeGo counter to get coach ticket. Each ticket cost us NT$140, which is about SGD$7.00. The coach took us straight to our hotel door steps. The journey took us about 45mins.

On the coach, waiting for the rest of the passenger to fill up the empty seats. Each coach can only take about 20+ passenger.

This hotel cost us NT$1680 per (promotion rate), which is about SGD$80.00 per. In my opinion, this hotel still not a bad choice. The staff are friendly and helpful, for example we ask them to help us check which terminal we suppose to go for our flight back to Singapore, they called the airport without hesitate. Although the room might be a bit small, but it still good enough for me.

After settle down and took a rest, we went to the nearest Metro station (Ximen) to get the EasyCard. Their EasyCard is the same as our EZ link. The card cost NT$500 with NT$100 deposit, meaning the card only contain NT$400 value. The NT100 deposit will be refund upon returning the card.

We took Metro to Zhongxiao Dunhua and find our way to DunHua N. Road to look for the Taiwan online spree shop. No disappointment, we manage to find it. It disappointment to her as she can't find thing to buy.

Went to this 24 hours book store, nothing special just like Kinokoniya book store in Singapore. They are selling Harry Potter latest book at a cheaper price than Singapore. We didn't spend much time there.

When the night arrive, we headed to Shilin night market. If you are going there by metro, never alight at Shilin station. The market is nearer to Jiantan station. After coming out of the station, you will be able to see the area which sell foods. For clothing and others, you have to cross the road. The picture show the famous "Hao Da Da Chicken Cutlet". True enough it is very big, one can never finish it.

Another snack we tried is the "Da Bin Bao Xiao Bin", it refer to a very flexible kind of flour wrapper which is used to wrap a small deep fried crispy cakes to make a larger cake. After they have been wrapped up, the seller will crushes the cakes inside with his or her hand. These cakes come in sweet and savory varieties. The sweet cakes contain peanuts, red bean, taro, coconut and lotus nuts. While the savory cakes contain curry, spicy filling and sesame paste. In my opinion, its not really that nice.

Look at this giant Octopus Balls, they are real big. We didn't try it cos we wanna keep our stomach for some other foods.

In the market, there are many store selling fried oyster. We don't know which is the famous one, so we just pick one. We ordered their 3 signature dishes, the "Fried Oyster with Egg", Deep Fried Tempura" and the last one can't remember the name. It a must to try the fried oyster with egg and the deep fried tempura, the other one can give a miss as we find it taste funny. Haha...

There is this store selling customise key chain and handphone stripe. He will use colourful wire to form names and shape you choose. She bought a few, I didn't buy a single one. Whahaha... It quite expensive also, it depend on how many alphabet you wan him to do.

My mum went to the bank and buy 2 piece of the $20 polyner notes for collection. She told me that each person is only allow to buy 2 and the IC is recorded in their system.

Live Earth is a 24-hour, 7-continent concert series taking place on 7/7/07 that will bring together more than 100 music artists and 2 billion people to trigger a global movement to solve the climate crisis.

They are asking all people to answer the call, the call to save our Earth. So are you picking up their call? Whahaha...

NDP Combined Rehearsal - 300607

Yesterday went to the NDP 2007 Combined Rehearsal. Denise got the ticket from her friend, who is involved in the NDP. Didn’t manage to get the preview / the actual day ticket, this combined rehearsal also not bad lah...

This is the first time that the Parade will be held in Marina Bay using a specially constructed floating platform. The atmosphere is very different from National Stadium. At Marina Bay, you will see the skyscrapers in the background, the river, the merlion and not to mention the construction of the Marina Bay IR Haha...

We meet at Marina Square Food court for an early dinner as we need to be seated around 5.30pm.

Denise bought this Curry Chicken Noodle at Marina Square Food Court to try as she say is recommended in magazine or on tv, can't remember. Compare to her favorite Hong Lim Food Centre's Heng Kee Curry Mee Hoon Mee, I think she still prefer her favorite. After a few mouth, she passed me the bowl and ask me to get her all-time favorite - Qiu Lian Ban Mian.

After finished her ban mian, she pose with her shade and the "V" hand sign.

If I'm not wrong, there are Blue, Green, Red and Yellow sector and we are in the Yellow sector. The rehearsal tickets look so cheapo, can't be blame also as there are quite a number of rehearsal going on.

The crowd start to enter the grand stand at around 5.30pm. The weather is so hot and there are so many people. The traffic is also jammed up due to the crowd crossing over from Marina Square.

The Army contingent is marching into the grand stand and gather before the actual marching in to the floating platform. If I'm not wrong, this marching contingent belong to the Navy.

As there are so many people, we are not allow to choose where to sit. We are told to fill up the front sit, I'm okie with such arrangement. The stage in the photo is the floating platform, one of its kind in the world maybe.

From the photo can't really see what words are they forming, they are forming the word "NDP 07".

The marching in of the "Colour Party", its also mean the flag party. Each flag represent different unit in the SAF.

Can you see what is in the photo? The main subject is not about the construction site of the future Marina Bay IR.

I'm sure now you can see it. It's the State Flag Flypast, another traditional highlight of every year NDP. The 60 by 90 ft State Flag is hooked to a Chinook helicopter and escorted by 4 Apache helicopters.

A closer look of the State Flag flypast the crowd sitting at the grand stand. The State Flag Flypast kick start the aerial display of the NDP.

The aerial display follow by 3 fighter jet flying low over the head of the crowd. The following sound from the fighter jet bust into our ears.

To add colour to the aerial salute, the five F-16 flying at a low height trail off with white smoke. They are so fast that I got no time to position my shot, in the end this picture turn out a bit out.

The Army is transforming into a 3G Army. The photo show our 3G soldier in their latest 3G gear.

Dunno what this tank call, but it caught the crowd attention. There are few more vehicle display from Civil Defend force, but I din took any picture.

Also dunno what this helicopter call, but it make the splashing of water from the river real nice.

SIN - TPE

On top of the money spent on the external hdd and camera, there is another bigger damage to my pocket - Taipei Trip in July.

This is the my 3rd visit to Taipei, the first time was during my NS days, the second time was a very short one with Raymond, this time round will be going for 5 days. The flight already cost S$613 (including taxes), cos taking Singapore Airline (national carrier). Actually was looking out for budget airline, but there's no suitable promotion. There is only one time slot for Jetstar flight, which is reaching Taipei in the evening. As for SQ, it will reach Taipei in the noon. So I feel at least only half a day wasted rather than whole day gone. So there is a price to pay, which is about S$200 more.

No more budget to spend on good hotel. So booked TS Hotel (a decent one) near XMD at about S$80 per night.

Looking forward to the trip, and hope the weather over at Taipei will be good when I'm going.

Total damage for this trip (flight & accommodation only) is about S$773. Estimated damage for the whole trip is S$1,500.

DSC - H7

At last I decided to invest in a camera which I have been considering for the past many years. Whahaha... The GST is going up by 2% next month, so I think why not get it now and save that few dollars. Actually I'm aiming for DSC-H5, but SONY released DSC-H7 recently and with better optical zoom. So I got myself DSC-H7.

I intend to get it from the PC Show 2007 which juz ended last week, but the offer was not fantastic at all. They are selling at S$699, free Sony 1 GB MS and Camera Case only if I'm remember correctly. And have to squeeze with the crowd. So in the end I got it from Bargain City (an online shop). I pay S$669 for the camera (slightly cheaper), free Sony 1 GB MS, Steinzeiser Camera Case, Large Tripod and Cleaning Kit.

Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End

Yesterday went to watch "Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End" after work. This time again the ticket is free, my company booked the whole cinema for the staff. The show start at 8pm and end at 11pm, nearly 3 hours value for money. Whahaha...

Nearly fall asleep half way through, as it may be slightly draggy. Maybe its a wrap up for "Pirates of the Caribbean".

Many people din know there is a surprise short scene about 20 seconds after finished crediting all the staff.

Today went to the PC Show 2007 at Suntec. The place was damn crowded partly because today is a public holiday. Another factor is due to the increase of GST at July. Everyone is trying to avoid the extra 2% GST. Actually if you are buying few hundreds thing, the impact will not that much.

Got myself a external hard disk, as my desktop storage is running dry. So I bought a Western Digital hard disk - "My Book". Got the 320GB for S$149.90 and with 3 years warranty, I feel its quite worth for money.

Actually wanna get a Sony camera at the PC Show, but the offer is quite disappointed. So i decide not to get it at the Show.

On the bus

Yesterday when I was on my way to Chinatown, something happened on the bus.

As usual I was listening music with my Creative Mp3 when I am traveling on bus. When the bus left the stop at Tangs, a girl about the age of 12 ran quickly from the back of the bus to the front. So first thing come to my mind is maybe she wanna look for her mum or somebody who is traveling with her who is sitting in front.

When the bus reach Herren's stop, it din stop at the bus stop, instead it stop further away. I was thinking WTF is going on, as I'm rushing for time. Then came the bus captain with the girl, heard the bus caption asking the girl "which one"? The girl reply with her finger pointing at a man (in the pic wearing blue shirt) sitting behind. The bus caption then asked that man to stay where he is and he went to the front again. Then I heard someone saying "the man molest the girl".

Then this man (in the pic wearing blue t-shirt) came into picture. First he made his way to the front, then he came to the mid section of the bus where the "molester" was standing. The man took out a pass from his wallet to show the "molester", then he ask for his IC. From these action, I think the man should be a policeman. With the IC in hand, the police make a call to his station and report the IC number to his colleague. After the call, the "molester" were asked to go the back with the police sitting beside him.

We were asked to leave the bus and board another bus. Total about 30mins lost because of this incident. Gain a free ride to my destination and a complimentary ride pass which valid for a month.

Spiderman 3

After work rush to Eng Wah Suntec for "Spiderman 3", its a treats from my company. They booked one theater for all the staff and invite other working partners. A free movie for a recent and hot selling show is consider quite good.

The movie is worth watch, "Spiderman 3" is kind of wrap up of the movie.

Everyone has the dark and evil side of you. Just that how you are able to control the devil in you. We can choose what we are. Nobody is born crook, some are been forced my the environment.

Been through the 2 days (Thur & Fri) of reservist, this time in camp is a more relaxing one. The purpose of these 2 days in camp is to prepare for the Change of Command Parade. Just changing a commender, everybody is busy preparing for the parade and dunno how much money is spent just for these 2 days. The first day weather was good, no sun and feel cooling the whole day. The second day was sunny in the morning and its start to raining in the afternoon. Its has been a long time that I sweat that much. Cannot remember those parade command that were taught in those active days anymore, so just monkey see monkey do. Anyway this also a good chance to get away from work.

Sat was the day to relax from the 2 days parade. Although its just 2 days, but it still quite tiring. So meet Denise for lunch at New York New York at CityLink. This is my first visit, but she been there before. The crowd keep coming, the business are quite good. Nothing much to complain about the foods. Although the food serving was quite big I still manage to finish my order, but she can't finish hers.

The Fiery Buffalo Wings cost S$6.90 and the pasta cost S$12.90 each.

200 Pounds Beauty

Went to catch "200 Pounds Beauty" after works. JOO Jin-mo and KIM A-Joong are the main cast for this romantic comedy. Although its a comedy, but toward the end there are some touching part too. The story is about this 200 pounds gal (KIM A-Joong) who can sing very well, but don't have to factor to become a singer. Because of the one she love (JOO Jin-mo) she went for a major cosmetic surgery from head to toe.

Kim A-Joong, do you think she is pretty? I personally feel she got a innocent look, that many guy will fancy. No idea she is a signer or actress, but a few soundtrack from this movie is sang by her. Like "Beautiful Girl" and "Maria" which are sang by her.

050407 - 080407 KL Trip

During the last long weekend, Denise, her family and me had a short trip to Kuala Lumpur. We bought the 10pm coach, so I went straight after work. Reached Golden Mile Complex (where we suppose to board the coach) at about 7.30pm and had our dinner nearby.

It took about 6 hours to reach Kuala Lumpur. The whole journey was quite boring nothing to do, the only thing is to sleep. Just heard from the news that a coach meet with an accident when traveling to Malaysia. A container truck knock onto the coach and cause 1 death. That's bad, traveling at night is quite dangerous. Lucky we are home safely. Got off the coach at about 4am and took a cab to the condominium that we are going to stay in for the next few days.

Talking about cab, really hate those cab drivers. There is no professionalism in most of the cab drivers, all they know is about how they can earn more money. There's nothing wrong that they are trying to earn more money, but they got to do it in a correct manner. Anyway for those cab drivers who had cheated / charged us extra on us (only God know) please take care yourself. Whahaha...

We had our stay at this condominium for that few days, we are able to see the Petronas Twins Tower and KL Tower (if not wrong) from the balcony. The view is better at night, as the lighting from the Petronas Twins Tower brighten up the sky. The surrounding are mostly condominium and terrace house.

Relax on the sofa and wait for the rest before we went out.

Nearby there are some eatery, shop, convenient store, etc. We found a Secret Receipt Restaurant, but we din manage to try. There are few quite rundown flat around.

Beside our condominium, there is this abandon construction. I was told the construction have been stop for nearly 10 years. They can't be bother even to dismantle the tower crane, just leave it there to rot and collapse one day. You can never find such thing in Singapore, cos land is so precious here.

Went to KL Central hoping able to change our train to an earlier timing. So we woke up early and travel all the way there and in the end we are not able to change due to its fully booked.

From KL Central, we took LRT to KLCC to meet Denise's dad, uncle and aunt. We went there early hoping to get the free ticket to the Petronas Twins Tower Skybridge. When we reach there, the place is packed with hell lot of people. We reach there about 8.30am, wondering what time these people start to queue. If not wrong, they are giving away 1,600 tickets per day. Even with such a long queue, there is only one counter. It took us about 2 hours before we got the ticket. This is my second visit, the last one do not have such a long queue. Maybe is because its not a weekend.

Anyone miss the taste of A&W rootbeer float? We order the rootbeer float and the ice-cream waffles to recall some memories.

Found this signboard at the ground floor of KLCC when looking for toilet. This premier paid toilet has a price tag of RM$2.00. Was wondering what type of service they provide. Or the floor is so damn clean that you lay flat on it. Whahaha... I din try, are you willing to pay that price to try?

At about 1.30pm, we went up to the skybridge. Did the security check, similar to those at the custom. We were issued a pass and a 3D spec, watched a short introduction video before taking the lift up to the skybridge. It was a sunny day, so the view from the top still not too bad.

The Malaysia Telecom HQ is another prominent building you can find in KL beside the twin tower. Its surrounding is free from other tall building, so practically you are able to see it anywhere in KL.

After we got the tickets for the Petronas Twins Towers Skybridge, we took a cab to Eye On Malaysia. This ferris wheel allow you to view the KL at a height of 60 metres above ground. The whole ride is about 12 minutes and about a total of 7 rounds. I feel kind of boring after the 4th round. The ride cost RM$15.00 compare to the Singapore Flyer which only open next year cost SGD$29.50, I considered that very cheap already. But 一分钱, 一分货 Singapore Flyer is much bigger and higher than Eye On Malaysia. With the total height of 165 metres, upon completion its will be the largest wheel in the world.

Another long lost band in Singapore. Recently there is a trend that people are crazy for the donuts selling at Raffles. No idea why Dunkin Dounts move out of Singaprore. But they are doing quite well in Malaysia, as have quite a number of outlet there. 6 donuts only cost RM$10.50, meaning less than SGD$1.00 each.

Took this 7 hours train journey back home. The train reach Singapore at 10pm and am only reach home about 11pm. Its so tiring and can't get enough good sleep. Will not visit Malaysia in the near future. Sick of their cab drivers and the traveling journey is really a torture.

The other day she ask mi whether I know where to get a gold squarish face watch. Then I said no idea where to get leh. Today after the seminars at Grand Plaza Park Hotel, I decided to hunt for that gold watch. Without much time spend, I found one. Sometime it really depend on fate and luck when you are searching for something. Think today I have both, so without much thinking I bought it.

Went to her house and pass it to her as to reward her for studying so hard for the coming exam. She love it so much and she is going to wear it on her first paper next week. Hope this watch will bring her all the luck she needs. At the same time also bought her few Heng Xiang Wife Cake (her favorite) that my sister bought back from Hong Kong the other day.

Mellben Seafood

Anyone been to Mellben Seafood (海鲜螃蟹王) at 232 Ang Mo Kio Ave 3 #01-1222 Singapore 560232? Yesterday was me 1st visit to this well known stall with Denise and family. They are famous for their delicious crab cuisines. Actually I din know they are so famous until I reached the place. There were 2 line of queue, 1 is for those had made reservation, the other is for those like us din made any reservation. Actually we try calling to made a booking, but the person said they are fully booked and ask us to go down and join the queue. The boss must be making big $$$.

When the person take our orders, we are told the waiting time for the crab is about 1hr 30mins. Their popular dishes are 'Beehoon crab','Chilli crab', 'Butter crab' and 'Black Pepper crab'. So we ordered therir 'Beehoon crab' and 'Butter crab'. On top of that we ordered 'Fried mee', her favorite 'Kang kong', 'Cereal prawn' and 'Man tou'.

It took us about 3 hours to have this dinner, but most of the time are on waiting. So if can try to made reservation if you wanna avoid the long queue and be there early or later, avoid the dinner hour.

Finally watched "门徒" today. Actually plan to watch during the CNY week, but the time dun allow me.

Lunar New Year Day 1 to Day 3

Basically the 3 days are going house to house for visiting and collect Ang Bao. As usual every year the collection was not much. Anyway is the thought that count, not the amount in the Ang Bao.

3 days just passed so fast, although office is close for 3 days and only open next Monday (26/02). The 3 days is not given free, but have to deduct from annual leave, meaning forcing us to take leave. I don't wish to waste my 3 days leave doing nothing at home, so I requested to report back to work on Thursday (22/02).

On the Lunar New Year Day 1, went to River Ang Bao 2007 with Dad and Mum after visiting. There are damn lot of crowd, I think 75% are China people. At 9pm, saw a bit of the firework as I was quite far away from the site where it fire off.
